Hey there!

Welcome to SW Marine. I’m a sailor and marine technician with a decade of experience working on the water, spanning research vessels, aquaculture and charter sailing. My connection to the ocean runs deep - when I’m not working, you can usually find me in the water, or exploring the world through coastal communities. A lifelong curiosity about technical challenges shapes my meticulous approach to marine systems. I specialize in electrical & electronics, corrosion prevention, and custom CNC fabrication.

I started my business because I want boat owners to feel confident and comfortable with the technology on their vessels - never intimidated by it. I really enjoy the problem-solving side of this work and take pride in running an independent business in the trades. Above all, I hope to share what I know, help make marine systems accessible to everyone, and encourage other young women to pursue careers in the marine industry.

Let’s get started on your project!

  • "Sydney is a breath of fresh air, or more aptly, in the sailing world terms, Sydney is a gentle bay breeze that fills the sails and guides you toward your next waypoint. She has been instrumental on Black Witch as both crew and craft work. She has a great attitude and works to get the job done. I love that she is young and energetic but also has been trained by some of the old salts in Sausalito. Aboard Black Witch, Sydney was the guiding force for new running rigging, all 600 feet plus! Black Witch is a traditional gaff rig sloop launched in 1949 with a 1931 Ralph Winslow design. She’s a little jewel box and we keep her to a high standard. Not just anyone works on the Witch. Sydney is launching her electronics services and when Black Witch needs those services, she will be top of list. I hope to have Sydney over soon, for an inspection. "

  • "Sydney did a complicated electrical job on my boat in just a couple days. The switches for the bilge pumps were deep in the bilge and inaccessible from the cabin. She rewired the bilge pumps and placed an attractive switch for each pump in the cabin, conveniently near the navigation station. Sydney works methodically and is very neat during the job. She arrives on time, communicates well, and is a pleasure to work with. I can highly recommend Sydney for marine electrical jobs."
